I went to the URL
http://argouml.tigris.org/
and followed these instructions

"Download files and run:
1. Download latest stable release: 0.24 zip (other formats & add-in modules)
2. Unzip the archive
3a. On Windows or Mac: Double-click on argouml.jar
3b. On Unix: Type the command 'java -jar argouml.jar'"

This left me as I am now.

It looks like it can't find the Java source importer. It appears that you
are running from the command line (rather than via Java Web Start). Can you
tell us where you downloaded your distribution from and how you
unpacked/installed it?

As a result the traditional approach to learning how to properly convert
some simple things from java to UML, ie to write an example piece of code
and then to try to convert it to UML to see how it should be expressed has
become somewhat problematic.

Also could anyone point me towards some good books for a beginner which
specify exactly how to convert java code to UML.
